Celebrating Biodiversity and World Environment Week with Myvegan
World Environment Day is celebrated on the 5th June every year and it is the United Nations official day for encouraging worldwide awareness for the protection of our environment. This year, the theme for World Environment Day was 'Time For Nature' with a focus on biodiversity. Myvegan dedicated an entire week to celebrating our earth and their aim was to raise awareness on this years theme, encouraging their followers to make their own positive action, one small bite at a time.
I was thrilled to collaborate with Myvegan on this incredible campaign, and as a conservation biologist, I was keen to demonstrate how even the smallest of changes to someone’s diet, could drastically reduce their personal impact on the planet.
Let's spread the word:
With a combined following of 41.8k - the collaboration was spearheaded by a story takeover to inspire followers to make positive changes, one bite at a time. You can view it below.
6 Ways a Plant-based Diet helps the Environment:
I wrote a blog post for Myvegan - that you can find here - to explain how our choices as individuals have great power and we must start to realise the consequences of our actions. We are now living in a time where we are witnessing the warming of the earth, and we are losing biodiversity that an unprecedented rate. We can no longer bury our heads in the sand, we must all be making small sacrifices. I explain how even cutting out meat for one day of the week can drastically reduce someone's personal impact on the planet. Please click here to read more!
Get ready, because we are kicking off our World Environment Week with our first guest takeover!
