I spearheaded a fundraising campaign with Lion Landscapes to support the livelihood of wildlife rangers in Laikipia (Kenya). On October 3rd, George Turner and I joined the Wildlife Ranger Challenge where we walked a half marathon (21km) carrying a backpack weighing 25kg.
With the help of our generous supporters, we raised a staggering £7,342 which will be used to boost the salaries of the Lion Rangers, enabling them to continue working during the global pandemic. Specially trained to alleviate the conflict that arises between humans and lions when they encounter each other, the work of these rangers is critical for the preservation of Africa's carnivores. Enabling human-lion coexistence is one of the only ways we'll be able to conserve the lion.
